First Day Pics 14 February 2007
Hey All, I got some pictures back from the field. The Walk started in the early morning of 12 February at Phelps Hall (chow hall dedicated in memory of LCpl Phelps) and proceeded out Camp Pendleton Front Gate via Military Police escort. The weather was hot (80+F) but dry. The walkers are already complaining of sun burn! They continued into Twentynine Palms and headed down Route 62, walking a total of 15 miles on the first day. Both Gretchen and Kelley (oh, and let's not forget the dogs: Duke and Brandy) trained hard for this event, but are allowing themselves to acclimate to the new climate. They'll start off slow, but will average about 20 miles a day to make Dubois before summer. Posted by Rob @ 8:02 AM Post a Comment
