The walk is done! What an amazing experience.

I flew out to Wyoming last Thursday the 24th and walked one day with the girls before they finished on Monday the 28th. They looked fitter than ever but were ready to finally reach the end. On Monday, the girls--lead by the local boy scouts and tailed by approximately 150 other walkers--walked the final few miles from Dubois Clinic to the top of Dubois Cemetery. The local VFW put together an outstanding ceremony to honor our country's fallen, with Ed Wilkerson officiating. Governor Dave Freudenthal said a few words commemorating the Memorial Day ceremony and congratulated our girls on their accomplishment. Afterwords, we all gathered at the VFW post for some fine food. A great day and a great finish.

For those of you who supported our walk, we cannot thank you enough: from fellow walkers, to donors, to drivers, to those who provided logistical support. Without you, the walk would not have happened. Especially, we'd like to thank Stallion Oilfield Services for lending us an RV that the girls used as a temporary home for over 3 months.

While the walk did not raise the full million dollars we had hoped for, it did raise awareness for our cause, and this walk is just one effort in our march to help service members in need. Our total donations received will be posted once it's calculated and, also, a full after action review of the walk (with pictures) will be posted once I get back home.
